/ 10/28/2006 05:23:00 pm Read this: http://www.womendiary.net/2006/10/22/wee-shu-min-the-slammed-rjc-girl/ sg's education system is said to give rise to elitism. so is our education system a flop? to an extent, it is lah. we cant deny that the system is successful in the sense that every child is given the chance to receive basic and proper education. however, every coin has it's flip side too lar. it seems to me that the system is somehow, like the saying, the "survival of the fittest".. the so called talents are nurtured to become future leaders whereas the rest are like "educated for the sake of being educated" only. then the so called elites will think that they are so high up on the social ladder and thus have the rights to discriminate others. hopefully the ladder breaks and then they fall big time arh haha =x anw it's just my 2 cents worth ah anyhow say one okay.. dun sue me arh. =x -------------------------------------------------------------------- eh phy is fun haha learnt smth today :) interesting eh so share a bit wif you all arh.. haha.. as we've learnt, according to the physics of fluids theories right, when a cup of ice filled with water to it's brim is left to melt, the water level won't rise => water won't overflow. but global warming => melting of the ice caps => rising sea lvls seems to contradict the theory. it's not contradicting the theory because........................ the ice at the north pole is floating on water so when the ice bergs melt, it abides the theory whereby the ice displaces it'a own volume of water therefore not increasing the sea level. however, the ice at the south pole is actually on land. so when the ice bergs melt, the water from the melted ice bergs flows into the sea thus contributing to the increasing sea level. yea so it's actually the melting ice at the south pole contributing to the rising sea level. amazing! (ps i a bit sua ku haha) |
